Needle Mat Technology

In June 2020, Saint-Gobain ADFORS purchased a facility in Dublin, GA, now manufacturing needle mat products for heat protection and thermal insulation.

Glass needle mats are made from chopped, continuous filament yarns that are mechanically needled in a modern process without adding binders. ADFORS creates these mats in different thicknesses and densities to suit your needs, using E-glass, ECR, and silica fibers. These mats offer high thermal resistance, excellent electrical insulating properties, sound absorption, high mechanical strength, and easy handling. This technology can be applied to the automotive industry, shipbuilding, thermal processing plants, any many more. Needle mat technology is a growing field with many potential applications.
