Dublin, GA Balloon Festival

Saint-Gobain ADFORS was proud to be once again the presenting sponsor of the Dublin Irish Balloon Festival. This annual event began in 2003 with only ten balloons and now has grown to be one of the largest events in the Dublin community. This year the event was held on March 10th and 11th. Although the balloons were grounded on the 10th due to wind and weather, around 400 participants joined to watch the movie “Space Jam,” and the balloons do a basket fire. The event was a success, with balloons flying Saturday and offering tethered rides to visitors that went up approximately 50 feet in the air, with 14 balloons flying and more than 1,000 in attendance. In addition to the balloons, there were numerous other festivities, such as live music, kid rides, and food. Saturday evening, the balloons did a glow which is when they heat the air in the balloons, creating a beautiful glow inside. ADFORS was happy to be to participate in such a fantastic community event and be able to get “on board” some balloons!
